8,000 followers: Thank you to my readers

Despite my absence from this platform for the past couple of weeks, I am getting back to regular blogging and I greatly appreciate your patience with regards to this. Today I received my 8,000th follower and I am surprised I managed to hit this new milestone despite blogging much less this month.

It shows that I have some amazing fellow bloggers that enjoy my site and are eager to read my posts, whether they are daily, weekly or monthly. Your support does not go unnoticed.

It seems like these milestone posts are being uploaded at an ever increasing pace. But then again I feel every year goes by at a faster and faster pace, maybe it is just the illusion that comes with age. But if it is true (and I do hope so) that I am gaining followers at a faster and faster rate I want to thank each and every one of you that has helped my blog get to the stage that it is at. For those that have been there since day one and those that have followed me in the past hour, your contributions, large and small, and the time taken to engage with me has helped motivate me to get to this point. I couldn’t have got to this point without your continued words of support and without it I would have probably stopped a long time ago. I will keep going for as long as I can and I enjoy creating each post as much as I did on day one. The difference is I have a lot more people to write for today which helps get me out of bed each morning.

On another note, I have found that I am no good with setting routines. I aimed to cut down on blog posts and write maybe 3-4 times a week instead of everyday, and I have managed to write I think two posts in April. Not good enough. One day away turns into two, and then a week, and then it’s mid April. I am no good at planning, never was. So I may go back to daily blogging as setting myself daily schedules, with hospitality work, isn’t always easy to stick to. I was much more productive when blogging daily. But I have also been ill the past week, which didn’t help. But I have settled into Melbourne, I feel much better and that gap in blogging shouldn’t repeat. I have had many kind words from you asking when my next blog post will be and wondered where I went and for that I will ensure that you are not left in the dark again. In Brisbane I really got into the swing of things as I found a great routine and I feel I have finally found that routine here in Melbourne. I have a job, I have found great places for wifi, and I feel fully fit again. And I need to blog regularly as I have a backlog of photos and videos that need uploading and with an old iPhone like mine, I really need to upload them as my phone’s memory is shocking. I can’t take new ones if my current ones are taking up all the storage.

It is so nice to see that my blog is still being read despite my absence, and for that if you are here, I will make sure to be here too.

Again, thank you.

On another note, at this rate I should expect to hit 10,000 followers by June, around my 30th birthday. What perfect timing to hit the 10K, and I feel I need to do something for this. Maybe a giveaway, or a special kind of blog post, I don’t know. But maybe you have some ideas that could inspire me to do some kind of celebration post with this in mind. But it is a couple of months away still, and I am going to celebrate today knowing I have amazing readers helping me to carry on.

Thank you. I hope you are having a great week and will have a great weekend when it hits. Love you all!

  1. Congratulations! It seems like such a short while ago that you’d hit your last milestone! I really enjoy your travel posts and the photography (and discussing all thing Muse with you!) I’m sure 10K will follow really soon as well (aand now this is sounding like a marathon)!
I recently hit 150 followers on my blog and now I’ve lost itβ€” I’m doing a series of biweekly paper napkin comic posts (because paper napkins are awesome, and because it’s exam season and my creativity absolutely skyrockets when it’s not supposed to), so anything that you find exciting should be a great idea!

    1. Yeah it seems like yesterday! I really enjoy our chats (especially when Muse are involved) and I hope we continue to do so into the future.

Paper napkin comic posts? I haven’t heard of anything like that before, but that’s a sign of something interesting for sure. I’ll take a look.

    1. It will come much quicker that the ripe old age of 130 πŸ™‚ When you keep building on something, there is a snowball effect that means the growth occurs at a faster and faster rate. Keep building, and before you know it 130 will turn into 1,300. It just takes consistency and frequent blogging and readers will want to read more πŸ™‚

Thank you for your kind words, I hope you have a great weekend.

  4. Congratulations Buddy ! The only thing that can get you moving and out of that monotony is encouragement and support. You surely do strum the right strings. It would be really helpful if you could write a post about your journey and struggle along with guidelines for bloggers like me to follow to achieve such milestones.
