Horrible. That’s the only way I can describe the weather in the UK right now, storm after storm bringing relentless rain and wind. For that reason I only went out once, to pop to the shops whilst there was still some light, and I found a cool little something on route.
Someone put a yellow cone over a ground light and I loved it.
Now at first silly me thought this was a cool futuristic cone that actually lights up, until I noticed we aren’t there yet as a civilisation and it was just plonked on a light. But if anything it made me cherish the moment even more. Who put it there? Was it on purpose or just dropped by some worker that didn’t realise their artwork as they walked away?
Just a little something I wanted to share on my only wander today, reminding me that we don’t have to go too far to find a cool discovery and it may be on our doorstep.
I may be milking this a little bit more than it is worth, but I did find it very cool in all honesty.
I hope you think the same 😀
Yes, you have been battered there….it’s been on our news. That cone just brightens up an otherwise dreary, windy, & wet walk.

Yeah some places have been flooded sadly, hopefully Spring will show itself soon. Looking forward to some sunshine Pat!

Lots of floods here when the snow pack melts as the wildfires ruin so much vegetation….vicious circle. We are on very high ground here, but many are not.

I think it’s really cool too. I also get how bright and colorful things are a wondrous pleasure when you’re under siege of such storms. Where I live here in the Pacific NW of the US, we had similar deluge of wind and rain for nearly 30 days recently, and I changed my desktop background to an old shot of the golden top of the mountain near sunset, just to see glowing yellows and oranges. I think in all the grey weather and affected mild tonal colors that correspond to it, we truly are thrilled when we see intense colors again. Perhaps it has to do with most natural bright colors corresponding to plant growth, food and mild weather. So a survival instinct to seek out color when there’s too much darkness, perhaps?

Possibly, it makes sense and Seasonal Affective Disorder is a thing when we have reduced sunlight so it shows how much light really affects our mood. 30 days is a long time to have such weather! I don’t blame you for adding a little colour where you can. I am happy to add some here in traffic cone form! Haha

No, I’ve been posting such things for a while, I call it Random and Weird Phone Shots. Always taken with a phone, anything funny or strange I happen to come across. I also like signs, lots of signs. Warning signs, directions, health and safety stuff, fire escapes, stickers on poles and political slogans, all that. (And wheelbarrows, I like them.) I definitely would have taken a pic of that traffic cone!

There are so many things we walk past daily that could be turned into a post, with signs you will never run out of ideas!
Also, why wheelbarrows? Haha I love it!

Thanks! I must admit it stood out a lot, so it caught my attention right away. It is so cold now, and we had some snow earlier, lets see how long it lasts!

It really can, and if it is gloomy… we can always find ways to brighten it up ourselves!
